Jorge, that is the stand I use. I have a custom made plate to stand the
engine further away from the mounting pad. Want a close up?
The stand works great.

Is there anyone at Addison that would be willing to show their Velocity to a
couple of friends of mine?
Thanks,

Has anyone used the engine stand below for a Lyc IO540? Could it be used?

Jorge,
This is somewhat like what we used - a hydraulic crane and equalizer. The
equalizer is nice in that one can set I-beam material on the engine and
level it fore/aft - we used weights set on the engine (lead) - to level it
sideways. The one we used had hooks, so could just put them through the
engine lift tabs.

In the past I could start with just one mag and turn on the EI after.
Now it won't start on the mag alone. I have 500 hours and I think it
may be time to replace the mag. What are others doing? Rebuild?
Replace?
Thanks,
John

John,
Normal maintenance on a magneto at annual is to lube the cam and check the
point gap. If this was not done, it's time.
