REFLECTOR: OAT Locations

Wow, I can't seem to get any heat to my nose at all! Makes me wonder about my vernatherm. Mine's in the fresh air duct, but as I say, that cooler isn't getting hot oil in any quantity. Also, once in motion I don't think that should be an issue, the cool air flowing over it would cool it sufficient to get a proper reading I would think, but I'm not flying yet.

Soliciting OAT locations that people have found successful. John and I have tried sticking out the bottom near the nose gear leg and now have tried sticking out the fresh air duct in the nose. In both cases the radiant heat form the front oil cooler is heating our nose compartment enough to cause the OATs to run hot. Mind you this is a fixed gear so we have relatively little air flow in the nose compartment which I think is compounding the problem.

  Thanks,
