REFLECTOR: Insurance - OUCH!

I just got a quote: standard liability; 120K hull. I don't know whether to
say "OUCH"; or laugh. This has to be a joke.

I have 190 total hours; 25 hrs complex, 20 hrs high performance. Not a lot,
but I think it suggests that I might have an idea about flying an airplane.
I guess only the FAA thinks so. The underwriter is requiring:

a) The test pilot fly off the entire 40 hr phase 1 testing.
b) I must attend the factory school (I'm not sure what 'attend' means)
c) I must then get 25 hrs duel in make and model.
d) I must then have 10 hours solo in my airplane before carrying a
passenger.

For the privilege of having them tell me that I have complete this ~ $6 -
7,000 program; I get to pay them $4,900.00.

Do I sound bitter?

Al
