I asked for 100 mile radius plus a corridor to Boise Idaho from Fallon Nevada a little over 1 yr ago. they gave me what i asked for at the Reno FSDO . the inspector felt that the speed of the aircraft warranted the larger area.
Good luck

I am on the edge of the DFW class B. I picked out an area away form the Class B. I just ask for an area bounded by " I listed four airports which formed a rectangular area starting at my home base TKI." I know of other guys that did a similar thing. It does not have to be a fifty mile radius.

You do need to ask for the 50 mile radius. You can also pick the airport around the fifty mile radius you want. it does not have to be where you are based as long as you are still inside the penalty box.
