My understanding is that we use a "slurry" not to protect the foam but to 
thicken the mixture so that not as much seeps into the foam giving a lighter 
end product. The foam undr the bubble should already be "sealed" and 
therefore this should not be an issue.
I was also under the impression that micro-balloons, if anything, decrease 
the strength of the bond and therefore I would use just straight resin here.
