REFLECTOR: Close Encounter

In 1991 I was cleared to land at Englin ABF, we were turning from Base
to Final at 500 feet, (we were a Beech 1900 with 19 AFB on board) and as
we rolled out, I could see out my captain's window an F-15 within feet
of us. First thing I said to her, "Where is his wingman?" I looked out
my window and just behind my wing the other F-15 was right there close
enough to touch.

We immediately did a go around from now 200ft and they just continued to
land. They did not even care that we were in the middle of them. They
just saluted us and landed. That was not the only time I have had
something like that happen. Nothing replaces a good set of Mark 1 Eyeballs.
