I removed two instruments below the Hoz and Alt and cut the new hole for the EFIS. I then have replaced the Narco VOR and installed a new VAL and also replaced the Transx with the GTX330. I will be installing a new PS Eng. audio panel next week
I flew the new software today. I now see I will be on overload for the next four or five flights. They have installed a great deal more items including the terrain data. WOW.
The EFIS to the A/P is made by Jim Ham and it goes by the name Smart Coupler. I wired the coupler into the A/P power switch so they both come on at the same time. It comes with a lite that tells you that it is receiving a good GPS signal then it converts it to a analog signal to drive the A/P. Trouble is it only drives the L/R not the vertical. I have to work on that. Because the GRT puts out both. The lite is to big so I installed a 24V peanut lite so I could keep it on with out having it to bright. Otherwise I would have to control it through my dimmer system. This I may do later if the 24V lite is to bright.
If you use a TruTrac A/P it can take both directly from the GRT.
