Here is some new information from Milt Mersky.  He's been busy setting up
many of the details.  Please read all.  This just isn't a testosterone event
(see below).

Location:  Grayson County Airport, GYI, 9000', ILS. Unicom is 122.7 and
answered by the fire station on the field and 'monitored by the FBO.

The FBO for our meetings is Voyager Air Center. Al Rinehart is the owner.
903 786 9711  (Yes, there is a connection to the Voyager in the
Smithsonian!)

 

Al Rinehart with 3 other companies are involved in flight training for many
small countries. There should be a number of aircraft on the field, brought
out from their hangers for the group.  Included but not limited to: IL 78
Midas, Mig 21 and 29, F 16 and Sukoi 27. You will be allowed up close visits
to any plane on the field. Cameras OK!!

 

Arrival on Friday. Notify Milton Mersky, 214 957 3490 or miltonm at airmail.net
if you need a ride from your airport of entry to Grayson county (about 60
miles north of Dallas).

 

Rental cars are available once you arrive at Grayson County for $30.00 for
the entire 3 days.

 

===>  Bring your wives!  While the boys, and female builders, are playing in
the hangar, Ladies Day Special on Sat. AM. Visit a spa, get waxed, polished,
cut & trimmed and a lot more. Lunch & then antique shop till you drop.

 

Blue Mountain Greg Richter and his Cory Jet, Bill Peterson of Superior Air
Parts, Bob Mackey of Falcon Insurance and John Bakes will be there and speak
to the group.

 

We have total slots for 8 builders, 25 minutes each sharing their
experience, mods, or anything of airplane interest. Please contact Milt to
schedule.

 

Hampton Inn is the motel. $69.00 per night. Free hot breakfast. High speed
Internet in all rooms. Heated, covered pool. Heated Jacuzzi. Work out room.
Make sure you mention Velocity to get 69.00 rate.

 

Hamburgers-cheeseburgers cooked to order at lunch at the field. Bar BQ beef,
chicken & ribs for dinner at the Hampton Inn. You will not go hungry.

 

Scott Baker will bring a training plane or planes for those who want a Velo
check out, either in the air or ground school.. It will involve Flight
Transition for 3 hours or Flight refresher for 1 hour. Flight training will
be available in 1 to 2 hour sessions. $125.00 hr. Other flight training
available. Start calling Milt to be scheduled, and what you need.

 

Although not finalized, a registration fee of $50.00 per person is being
discussed with Velocity making up other costs.   Room cost is yours to
cover.
