REFLECTOR: Nose Gear Door Mechanism

Somebody was playing around with a nose gear retraction system that 

didn't use the hydraulic system

 

Here's  an AVI of it.

That looks like a very simple and reliable gear door closing system.

But what forces the doors open and holds them open?  There is some VERY
strong wind out there.  Is it depending on the weights on the linkage arm;
or am I missing something else?
