Or, build a doghouse outside your build-area to hold both the compressor
and vacuum, then use hoses to take your suction with you where you work.
Less noise, less dust.

And when you get a shop vac get a big one and a muffler for it, you will
generate a lot of dust and some sanders will connect to the vac to keep
the dust down. Also the filters clog quickly from fiberglass dust.. A
big vac can make you deaf

I would like to add good lights for working at night. Also an Aluminum
I-Beam is great for checking sections are straight. Something around 5
to 6 foot long is great for the wings and Canard. For Wingletts 3ft
works well.

Ok, one obvious omission, at least to me, is a shop vac. I must use it
'bout as much as any other tool. Also, good quality sandpaper....this
is
one place where HF is not the answer. The one I like the most is from
Home
Depot (Lowes does not carry it in the Houston area) is Norton brand 3X.
It
is advertised on the labels not to clog and to last 3 times as
long....from
what I can see, that is a very accurate claim. This has become much
more
pressing to me since I am in the TEDIOUS micro, sand, repeat, repeat,
repeat
process. If you do not yet know how much a difference good sand paper
can
make, buy some HB cheap stuff and some good stuff and compare. It IS
worth
the time (it was for me)

I echo Alex's comments. I have a 5 inch DA sander and an inline sander
and
have used them with much success in conjunction with hand sanding
including
a really long block for wings. Some would never think to use a power
tool
on their plane.....I, on the other hand have had no problems with power
tools and appreciate the perceived time savings.

Gotta love Harbor Freight. If'n I was making my living with the tools
from
there, no go. But, for us small time operators, even with big projects,
they are great....and all but disposable at the price.

FWIW.

All the best,

Chris

Oiless units are extremely loud, while 2 stage are much quieter. The 2
stage will be better at providing enough air for die grinders and
drills, they consume a large amount of air. The inexpensive unit would
be adequate to power your tools, but if it's in the same room that
you're working in you'll probably want to wear ear plugs. As with
everything it's a trade off. Cheaper initial price, but marginal
capacity and much more noise. All depends on your preferences. -----

	Hi,

My Velocity SEFG (fast build) was delivered just before Xmas, I
am
planning to commence building in April (winter in Colorado is
not the best
time to build). So it is time to setup and get a few essentials,
one "nice
to have item" seems to be a compressor, so I have been looking
at the
	following link.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004Z06E/103-6466385-2248646?%5Fencod
ing= UTF8&v=glance&n=228013

Is this a good option to power deie grinders, drills, saws etc
or would I
be better getting a slightly higeher (two stage oiled) unit?

Is Oiless the best choice etc?

Any thoughts, commenst from people with more experience would be
welcomed.

	Thanks.

	Steve.
