REFLECTOR: Running LOP

Andy...

Lycoming makes nozzles sized from.028 to .031 in diameter. Lycoming also
makes two piece nozzles with a drop in insert ... Those inserts can be
change... Also from .028 to .031... Normally, a stock nozzle is .029 which
gives you room to go richer or leaner...Bigger or smaller... On a four
cylinder Lycoming IO-360, a .001 bigger nozzle makes that cylinder run 30
degrees cooler... It also makes the other three cylinders run 10 degrees
hotter because of the total pressure drop in the system...You will also have
to re-calibrate your fuel flow gauge...Because of the drop in pressure, your
system will show less fuel flow. If you have a fuel flow computer, it
should be OK.... Your mileage may vary.... Slightly... Hope I didn't forget
too much....

Best... Steve

Steve,

Can you elaborate on how you are tuning your injectors?
