REFLECTOR: Transition training

Can't offer transition training but look forward to offering rides and
some "stick time" . Buy me some fuel and say nice things and wonderful
airplane noises will occur.

Rene'

XL RG 350 hrs.

The transition training I had at Sebastion was great with over 20
landings - some quite firm - some squeeeeeeekers (ok One). Give
yourself enough time to be good not just enough to fly the plane &
remember your first flight MAY involve some distractions (engine temps,
turbulence, wind noise, warning beepers, etc.). There is more to it
than - just enough. "Lets be safe out there."

You will also be grinning so big you may not get your eyes open.

Hello Milt and all,

The Velocity Builder's Symposium is going to be a great affair - filled
with useful and important information for Velocity builders and it will
be a great program to meet and greet friends, old and new. You, Phil
and your team of volunteer helpers are doing a great job of organizing
the program. Duane and Scott Swing and I look forward to being at the
program and offering our enthusiastic support and sharing information
with builders.

Best regards,

Scott Baker

Milt,

Your response to Al makes me very upset. Velocity has contributed
several thousand dollars to this event and is supporting it by our
attendance and volunteering to be speakers at the seminar. You did not
mention to Al that we are providing the ground school portion of the
training program at the Velocity Builder's Symposium free, and that we
are offering a $100 flight gift certificate off flight training to those
who attend the ground school. To imply that Velocity is not supporting
the program is wrong. If your motive in drafting your reply to Al is to
lay guilt onto Velocity, it is not not working ... and in fact, it is
making me rather angry.

Al:

Scott Baker, Scott Swing and Duane Swing determined the cost of bringing
a plane to Dallas together with the cost of an instructor would be an
inflated price of $3,000. Those three men declined to spend those funds.
The same three men had no problem in taking your $30,000 for your kit.

I am trying to reason with them by suggesting the training be done in
the plane in which they plan to arrive in Dallas and not bring a second
plane. I have not yet heard from them on that proposal.

Will you still attend?

Milt.

Anybody;

Did your insurance writer require that you have the factory 'transition
training'; or was just a matter of total hours, dual hours in type, solo
hours in type - or what?

Al
