REFLECTOR: Cirrus v. Velocity

Actually Cirrus is coming out with a six place jet.

But no STC for an EFIS in the 6 to 7 thousand dollar range. In fact, I
was told, after my warranty runs out if the PFD needs to be replaced it
could run $30,000.

I am not sure if you were looking at the new SR22-G2 GTS or not ... but
if your Velocity is trimmed as well in the interior, then your interior
guy must be one of the best!

I came very close to selling my XLRG and was looking
at the SR22 that I was going to share with a friend.
Another friend of mine had one that was in for repair
due to a crack in the belly. The cowling over the
leading edge behind the prop was also delaminating. I
did not fly in it but did sit in it. Being a certified
plane, it was well finished but not that much better
than my V. Also, having debugged my V with about 300+
hours and being told that all aircraft require
debugging, the newness lost its shine.
My original friend decided to keep his 172. SO after
much contemplation, I decided that my V is a much
better deal, certainly for the money. I have the IO540
and cruise at 180 + knts indicated. I can carry 2
above average passengers, golf clubs, 2 collapsible 14
speed bikes and plenty of luggage with no problem ( 94
gals). The ease of loading up the back seat area with
large pieces of luggage, IE bikes and golf bags is
very unique for a small aircraft. My friend loves his
SR22 but wants to trade up for an Adams twin and then
the Jet.
I Antonio ever gets his V finished, he will also have
a Jet, but it is a Velocity XLRG with a fan Jet
engine. Does the SR22 have an STC for a fan jet? How
about an EFIS for 6-7K.
I must admit, I did like the SR22, probably the bets
certified aircraft out there along with the Lancair.
