Because of transmitting signals it can disrupt data from the magnetometer. I was warned by Todd at GRT about this. I found no evidence of the problem because I tried to keep them away anyway. So I made sure I didn't tie any of the cables together. I had some within a couple of inches in some places and it didn't show any effect. But it may have if I had them tied to the coax cable direct. In the strake I have a separate tube to carry the coax cables through.
I did notice one time that I had a slow slew of compass on the EFIS during a high G turn but only once did it show. Otherwise it is very responsive and steady. I may have been talking on the radio at the time. I just don't remember. But it did show once. If I had been looking for it I may have put it together with the transmitting and turning at the same time. I will have to check this out again sometime.

Dave;
I understand about keeping the magnetometer away from steel parts, but I'm not aware of the need for separation of the magnetometer leads from any coax (as in antenna leads, I presume). What's up with that?
Thanks,
