REFLECTOR: Sticking Valves

I haven't heard much on the Reflector lately about sticking valves - also 
called "morning sickness" on Lycoming engines.  But here is an interesting 
article by Bill Marvel and Bill Scott.  They have always contended that 
Lycoming has had an old long standing deficiency in their valve train oiling 
system.  Basically, not enough oil gets pumped to the valve stems and 
rockers on most Lycoming engines.  This results in coking of the valve 
stems, sticking valves and in severe cases, bent push rods requiring a tear 
down.
