Greg,

Yes it would, and yes I did. When I talked with Ron Davis Racing in Phoenix,
we discussed all that. They wanted to know where I was putting them, how I was
"feeding" them, what the flow was, RPM, HP, average speed in climb, cruise,
etc. They wanted to know how my "boost cooler" was set up too. We discussed
options for placement and then decided on the following sizes.
In the end, I have (2) aluminum radiators that have 6.5" X 12" x 3.25" thick
cores. They have 2" side tanks. The boost cooler is 6" x 8" 2.5" thick. I
was pretty pleased with the work and attention to detail when they asked me what
I was doing. again, I am not sure this is going to work as well as I would
like. But, I had to start somewhere.

I also used details from some of the people already flying with 4.3L V-6's.
They are cast iron blocks, and only 220 HP, but I needed a starting point. I
used their square inches of radiator area per HP, and tried to get the same. I
realize that it is not a linear equation, since all the friction components
make about the same amount of heat regardless of HP. But again I needed a
starting point. I have just slightly less (about 2%) radiator area per HP than the 2
test aircraft I am talking about. However, with my boost cooler on line I have
about 3% more area/HP. So.. I'm rationalizing myself into a place from which
to start.

The aluminum block dissipates heat better than the cast iron ones, and I have
a pretty hefty Fluidyne oil cooler as well. Aluminum heads, aluminum oil pan,
cooling fins on the oil filters, and exit areas strategically placed are also
part of the system.

One last thing... I am not cooling it with water. Im using Evans cooling
fluid. Al has questions about this too... but I did quite a bit or research and it
seems to work well in High HP systems.

Indeed.... This is the "sperimental" part of Experimental. I know the
airplane will fly just fine. I do not know if it will cool sufficiently. We will
soon see :) I do have some options on the board in case I come up "hot".

I know one thing for sure: When we get Al's. Dennis's and my bird in the air
we should have a fly-in somewhere for all the "alternative power source"
Velocities. In addition to being very interesting... it will sound AMAZING! As
far as I know.. there will be at least a dozen of them by then... maybe more.
