To All:

I've been asked to pass on this info to the Velocity community.

As you know, Burt Rutan will be bringing White Knight and Spaceship
One to Airventure 2005. It is also the 30th anniversary of the
flight of the Vari-EZ prototype to Oshkosh, thus making a theme of 30
years, Oshkosh to Space and Back. To pay tribute to Burt and his
works, Eric Whyte, organizer of the Airventure Cup Race, has been
tapped to organize a mass arrival of canards, both Rutan designs AND
all derivatives such as Cozy, Berkut ... and VELOCITY.

Eric and crew have been coordinating with the FAA and EAA Flight
Operations and they have given us a most unique time slot, 3:00pm on
Monday, July 25th -opening day, the opening act of the airshow. The
Glassovercast aircraft will arrive just prior to SpaceShipOne/White
Knight. So it will be a tribute to Burt and Mike etc. in the way that
only the builders and pilots of these types can that the general
public cannot-with representatives of his early career leading his
most recent success into Oshkosh. The goal is to remind people that
Burt got his start like many at Oshkosh, building his own airplane.

Details are still forthcoming and will be posted on Frank Pullano's
site: http://glassovercast.com/

The basic plan is to gather at an airport south of OSH and fly in to
OSH in trail much like the Airventure Cup Racers did last year from
Fond Du Lac.

Since the event is on Monday, it should still be possible to fly BOTH
in the Race and the mass arrival. There may also be preferential
parking right in front of Aeroshell Square for canards, although I
haven't heard that confirmed yet.

This sounds like a unique experience not to mention a lot of fun!
I'll pass on more info as I get it.
