REFLECTOR: Aileron Question

Larry,
My manual (circa 1996) reads "Cut a 1/2" deep slot under the top skin at
each hinge location to accommodate the short bent portion of the hinge
backing plate."  I put a backing plate behind each hinge.  If memory serves
me, I cut up the available strip proportional to the hinge lengths of 2 at 6"
and 1 at 8" per side.
