My comment was only aimed at the note... "Bad humor, Jim. SB " ...Not the
post...

Woh!, have to disagree here Steve - & I'm not one to defend the factory...

To be fair, as the factory rep Scott has not poo poo'd the new option but
is taking an appropriately cautious line. I for one had not even thought
about the potential effects of turbulence, be it on the required spring
pressure to keep the doors open against air pressure whilst the gear is
down/moving, or potential movement of the gear in turbulence whilst it is
stowed.

Raising these as potential issues is all good stuff in my book and I
wouldn't like Scott to disappear off the list just because someone decides
that credibility should be an issue - it isn't and simply can't be at this
stage. I got quite a laugh from Jim's comment and Scott's reply - with the
added benefit that it reaffirmed the long held veiw that the ever present
need in aviation should be to determine all potential effects of any change
(many not often that apparent) before committing to it.

It appears to "work" and work well and may end up a major improvement in
many ways, but until fully tested in the field (just like all those new
aviation powerplants!), "let's not jump the gun"

Getting cooler down here!

Greg in Sydney.
