  Alex,
  This is not all that great of a photo but it shows how mine is done.
  The "coupling" is a strip if inner-tube wrapped with the ends cemented together. Pop-rivets hold it to the engine portion. A nylon tie-wrap holds it to the inlet duct. This has served for several years and several hundred hours flying.
  If you want better photos, I will take some next time I have the upper cowl removed.
