That is exactly how mine works. Two pins (one down each side) ... and
the cowl comes off!

You know John, I've thought about that as a way to hold the cowl to the
fuselage.
I also wondered if that would be enough?
That would sure be slick. Pull two pins on each side of the cowl and
lift it off!
