Gear speed: was Re: REFLECTOR: CLEAN SPEED OR JUST SPEED? [heur]

This brings up a related issue.

Gear Extension speed.

I remember somebody telling me this is dependent on the gear doors.

I would love to be able to increase the speed I can drop the gear.  Its
pretty low compared to my cruise speed.

Which doors are the limiting factor and what would somebody have to do to
increase the speed by 20 knots...
