Just a note to clarify things ...
Mr. Hawkins is the mechanic/maintenance representative for Proxy Aviation,
who is the buyer of this, a previously licensed (flying) Velocity aircraft.
I believe it is a V173-RG, but do not have the details. Velocity, Inc. is
providing new Velocity airframes to Proxy Aviation - we are assisting Proxy
Aviation in building several aircraft that will ultimately be placed into
service as Optionally Piloted-UAV's. In the interest in saving time from
building an aircraft from the beginning, Proxy purchased this used aircraft
so that it could rapidly be placed into R&D service. Velocity, Inc. has not
inspected the aircraft in question - we don't know if a qualified person
(someone who is familiar with Velocity aircraft) has taken a "look see" to
determine if the aircraft is safe to fly, or not. We have no information on
the aircraft's history. I see no problem with anyone from the Velocity
pilot community helping Proxy in their search for a ferry pilot - You all
know the drill, don't trust any aircraft until you've determined it is safe
to fly.
