REFLECTOR: Engine Oils?

Kevin,

Aviation Consumer had a couple very good articles on oils in the recent
past. Their conclusion was there is some difference in corrosion
prevention but no scientific method to determine which was best to
prevent mechanical wear.

Some of the general conclusions were mineral oils are fine for break-in
but come up short for normal ops. Any of the multi-weights were about
equivalent for routine use. There was only one that they said 'do not
use' during break-in. It was either Phillips or it was not Phillips!!!
I'll check tonight and drop a line tomorrow, though Ronnie will probably
have that information at his fingertips.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Engine Oils?

Hey All,
I wanted to send out a note and see who and what experience folks are
having with AeroShell and/or Phillips engine oils.

Thanks,
