I know that some of you know this already but if you don't use this. I have been using just plain vinegar for many things. Like cleaning brushes and tools after doing fiberglass work. Cleaning the roller cutters and alike. Just plane clean up of epoxy and taking tape off plexie glass. It works great, and a whole lot cheaper then lacquer thinner or acetone. Boeing has been using it for years doing glass work. It is user friendly and cheap. Since using it for glassing I have saved a great deal and I can throw my tools in a plastic been and leave them and not worry. The steel parts have to be removed and dried because of rusting but try it, you'll like it.
For cleaning off tape marks and scratches use Brasso. Yes Brasso, it works. If you have deep scratches use a buffer to remove them. But if you have just small burnish marks you can use the Brasso with a soft cloth. Put is on and let it dry. Then just buff it off. It won't harm the paint or plastic.

Al,
Not to worry, I have found an easy way to remove tape residue from Plexiglas and gelcoated surfaces. I use some of my wife's Old English furniture polish. I slather it on and cover it with some cling wrap, just to keep it in place, and then wait overnight and just wipe it all off. I'm confident most any oily stuff like WD-40 or even some thin oil should do the same job. I just cleaned a lot of tape residue from my windshield and fuselage with this approach and it works just fine.

Anyone know how long it is safe to leave the 'blue' masking tape on the plexiglass windows before the adhesive gets left behind when you pull the tape off. It seemed the quickest, easiest to put on the inside while I'm spraying upholstery adhesive.
Thanks,
Al
