REFLECTOR: Tru Trak Question

Kurt,

I have been flying mine for a year or more and installed a switch to select the three choices. I generally select HIGH and leave it there, Setting it to LOW seems to produce a wide range of altitude variation. Normally, I fly to the desired altitude and trim to level flight and engage the altitude hold set at HIGH. If the altitude hold begins to fly out of parameter I trim and re trim until it is perfect. This can be felt in my stick as a slight click as the auto pilot slips. Once properly trimmed it will hold for an hour or more until conditions change such as fuel load, weight shift or something else. I suggest you install the three position switch and experiment for yourself. In turbulence I sometimes select LOW to eliminate the excessive hunting of the auto pilot.

Subject: REFLECTOR: Tru Trak Question

To those of you that have a flying Tru Trak Altitude hold:

In the wiring, there is a choice of "activity". Low, Medium and Hi. Each has a different wiring requirement ( +, open or - ).

Which of these is best suited to a Velocity. If it matters, I have a 173 elite.

Thanks, Kurt
