REFLECTOR: Contacting EAA

I wrote a letter to Tom Poberezny, and I also spoke with him on the
phone. My letter expressed concerns inside the Velocity community
about getting insurance for homebuilt planes, and I specifically
complained about reports of poor service from Avemco. Tom said EAA
was negotiating at the time to change their alliance; a few months
later they did terminate Avemco.

I reported that Tom Poberezny was very polite, and that he spent a
while on the phone after he got my letter. Some Velocity people were
satisfied with his response. Others were suspicious about the
outcome. I'm not sure EAA's new carrier is any better, but I'll find
out soon. I'll be starting my engine up next week, and applying for
insurance very soon thereafter.

All the best,
