REFLECTOR: Gear warning horn

That auto-extension feature used to be on the Comanche as well.  Until
somebody was trying to stretch an emergency glide to the runway, the gear
extended and caused him to crash short.  The legal decision was that he
may have been able to reach the runway if he could have kept the gear
tucked away a bit longer, so Piper quit installing the system.

I guess nothing's perfect....
