REFLECTOR: AOA

The Velocity design may not stall in the sense pilots are aware-- BUT-- I would think twice before letting off on air speed when in close proximity to the ground. This plane will fall like a crowbar.

Since our aircraft doesn't stall, AOA isn't as as important for the Velocity as it is for other airplanes. The main reason I want an AOA indicator is for best glide and best climb information in an emergency situation.

I read somewhere that the Wright brothers had a piece of string tacked on to their Wright Flyer for an AOA indicator.

Mounted mine in wing root just outboard from the end of the strake co-pilot side. Indicator is above my AI.

I like it but it is not needed. It audible warns me if my speed is slow for approach and my gear are not down and Says "ANGLE ANGLE PUSH" if my AOA is nearing my angel of attack for stall buck.
