Yes. 5 years in a RV-6A, so it was left-hand stick, right-hand throttle.
Without 6 or 8 buttons on the stick, it seems like tuning 2 COMMS, 2
NAVS, a GPS, etc. would be a lot of motion between stick and panel,
right?

Have you flown with a stick? I much prefer it to a yoke. You can rest
your arm on the console and do most of your flying by tapping the trim
buttons on the stick.
