REFLECTOR: Gearbox alignment

Wayne-
You can buy a dial indicator and a magnetic base/arm from Harbor freight
tools rather reasonably to check for run out- you might be able to re-face
the bell housing to change angular run out, but to move the center, you
would need to weld all of the holes closed and have new ones drilled- not
too fun- what would you guess the misalignment is anyway?

Im thinking about some kind of fixture to bolt to the crankshaft with a dial
indicator incorporated into it.

Exactly I believe Marcotte's bell housing has the input shaft hole hole
in the wrong location. The perimeter bolts and the locating pins fit well
onto the engine.

It was a bearing before and that helped to mask the misalignmet.
