REFLECTOR: Nose Gear Axle

I installed a new nose gear fork last spring.

The axle when installed seemed a bit funny.

The fork is threaded on one side and has the retaining screw on the other
side. The axle is threaded on one end and has a slot for the Allen screw on
the other.

When screwed in so the retaining Allen screw fit into the slot, the
threaded end of the axle only engages about half the threads on the oposite
fork? I'd say there are 4 or 5 un-engaged threads visible in the fork.

I figured. well it must be designed this way.... But some have told me that
doesn't look right.

Anybody else have the same experience with the new and improved fork/axle
combination?
