Does "Carb Heat" count?  If my inlet gets clogged, pulling on the carb
heat will pick up air from around the exhaust pipe.  Sure, I will lose
100rpm but I figure it is better than losing the whole 2500rpm<g>.

I found a couple references to Alternate Air in case the air filter
collapses (ala Ronnie) or it becomes snow/ice/wet plugged, has anyone
worked out a good, if not foolproof method of providing alternate air in
cases where the inlet is fouled?  I thought there must surely be
something in the archives but maybe may search was anemic.  Any solid
designs out there.
