Hi Phil,
=20
(Please notice that my tongue is in my cheek whist making this reply)
=20
Why in the world would I want to do that??!!! =20
=20
1) I am the primary restraint and the critical path no matter what I do.
=20
2) My estimations of time needed at each step are lousy.
=20
3) I don't know if there would be a line item or a coefficient for being
anal, wanting to do it differently, or I just felt like doing it that =
way.
=20
4) If I really knew how much more I had to do, I might just get really
depressed and curl up in the corner and twitch.
=20
5) I already spend too much time updating my web log and my written =
building
log. If I took more time for project tracking software, I might never =
get
to work on my project.
=20
I'll just keep my head down, keep going, and hope that one day I run out =
of
parts.
=20
Best,
=20
Andy

Wonder if any fine builders have planned your building activities using =
a
program like Microsoft Project? MP uses GANT charts, Critical Paths,
Resource Allocations, etc. I remember my father who worked on the =
Apollo
project doing this, but on paper. =20

=20

Several of the personal web builder sites have broken down the flow with
"as-you-go" sections like "Nose Gear" with photos and explanations (most
helpful!), but has anyone actually laid out a complete or partial plan =
in
advance and in this manner, or using a similar program? =20

=20

MP can be a pain, to be sure, but offers rich dividends, including =
seeing
the flow of events, schedules, conflicts in advance, and flexibility to =
make
changes. =20

=20

I know! This is total overkill and unnecessary, but thought I would =
ask!
Thanks.

BTW, for all's enlightenment, attached is a photo I received from a King =
Air
200 pilot in Mali, West Africa. This is the first known, suspended and
unimproved airstrip in the world. The VASI alignment is a little =
tricky
since it is off to the sides. Look closely. :-)=20
