Yes, it is true.  One can be very keen eyed down on the ramp at DFW.  I've been there, however, it isn't supposed to shut down till 3 mile strikes are seen. 

I've been mid-push from a gate and been literally deserted from the ground crew due to lightning "in the vicinity".

If anything does happen with aircraft I believe it will be a Euro-event pre-election......  gee that's where I am now (honey, check my insurance policy one more time please).

Gotta make sure those little ones get a shot at college with or without me.
