Well Brian, there have been a ton. Of course a lot of RV's, and a fair
number of Velocities and Lancairs. In my airspace, some of the smaller
lighter aircraft can't get high enough for me to help out.
The other day I talked to a guy that had a Whites Lightening. Said that he
bought the rights and was hoping to have the kit back in production soon. I
told him that that was one of the few 4 seaters that was available when I
started my research, but there were rumors of problems in the company. He
told me all the details. Looks like I picked a good stable company when I
decided on the Velocity!!

I also talked to the guy that bought the lancair kit line in New Orleans.
He was screaming along at about 270 over the ground.

Overall, I'd say that builders have a higher percentage of competance than
light certafied aircraft. Something about some old guy from Texas (No
offence Brian, but you know the type) that just goes on and on and on...
right when things are busy. You don't now whether he will pass out from
lack of inhaling.. or finish his shpeal first!!

True story... one guy with a very heavy Texas accent was doing just
that... taking up Lots of airtime. Finally got the type aircraft, and asked
him his route of flt... off he went again.. on and on and on....
Finally, the controller asked him " Sir... just where are you going..
that's all"....
The 172 pilot responded.... " to see my mama"....

  Kurt
