The equipment suffix is a letter that lets ATC know what kind of NAV and 
transponder equipment you have on board. For example: 

/G is GPS, transponder w/altitude encoding
/R is RNAV, transponder w/altitude encoding
/A  DME,  and transponder w/altitude encoding
/T is Transponder, but No Altitude encoding.... etc. 

So that would turn out to be an aircraft identifier and equipment suffix of 
VELO/G for a gps, transponder + altitude encoding velocity. 

I know that the suffixes are in the AIM, and also in FlightGuide on one of 
the info pages.
