REFLECTOR: TC on IO-540

Your ring gear is. Put in on and rotate the crank until the cylinder
pushes air out the #1 sparkplug hole(easiest with no top plugs in). Then
line up the marks with the TOP of the case.  bg

Depending on model sometimes there are marks on the crank. line up the
TDC mark with the bottom case split. The engine I have now has a 0 (TDC)
and a 22 degree mark. Line up the 22 degree mark and set the mags. Nice.
Not all engines have them on the crank though. Then you will just have
to break out the protracter.
