REFLECTOR: XLRG on Grass

I hangar my SRGE at a 3000' grass strip in the summer.  Damage to my SS
leading
edge tape is about the same as when I hangar at a paved strip in the
winter.  The
prop as well and the wing and canard LEs definitely get dirty faster from
grass and
bugs.  I have no problem with TO roll as I have the Franklin/IVO combination.
The strip has a few knolls which will send you back in the air if you
don't time the
touchdown right.  We are moving to a new location this year and that strip
will be
graded smooth.  Taxiing is rough and bumpy, expecially if your main legs
fit tightly
in the sockets.  A little play makes taxiing a lot smoother.  Nose shimmy
does not
occur at all, even with little or no friction on the steering, but don't
try that on
pavement.
