REFLECTOR: XLRG on Grass

I hangar my SRGE at a 3000' grass strip in the summer. Damage to my SS
leading
edge tape is about the same as when I hangar at a paved strip in the
winter. The
prop as well and the wing and canard LEs definitely get dirty faster from
grass and
bugs. I have no problem with TO roll as I have the Franklin/IVO combination.
The strip has a few knolls which will send you back in the air if you
don't time the
touchdown right. We are moving to a new location this year and that strip
will be
graded smooth. Taxiing is rough and bumpy, expecially if your main legs
fit tightly
in the sockets. A little play makes taxiing a lot smoother. Nose shimmy
does not
occur at all, even with little or no friction on the steering, but don't
try that on
pavement.

Can Anyone share their experience using the XLRG on grass strips. Does it
hurt you MT prop if it hits the grass? Does it hit the grass on
rotation or
landing? Any gear problems on grass. Im considering retiring to an
airpark
and a lot of the ones I'm considering have grass Strips. If grass is OK
what
would you consider a minimum runway length? Thanks Tim Rhodenbaugh
