I snipped the following from the Matronics RV list (OUCH! - Glad I =
bought mine 3 years ago and it works!):

--> RV-List message posted by: "K Sebok" <ksebok@chinita.com>

I can't vouch for customer service issues at either company, but I came =
to
find about 2 months back that the price of the AN5812 pitot tube has
skyrocketed- to approx. $800! I spoke to Spruce, Wicks, and several =
others,
looking for a better deal, to no avail. Apparently, Aero Instrument =
Co.,
which has been manufacturing the tubes for decades (since at least =
1960),
was sold to a larger corporation, which dictated the increase in price =
(this
came from a conversation w/ an Aero Instrument Co. employee). $300 for =
a
new AN5812 would now be a bargain!

I don't have a need for a heated tube for my F-1, and ended up finding 2
locally that are military surplus- but both had a 115 volt power
requirement. I put mine on my Rocket; it fit fine w/ the Gretz mount. =
If
any one wants the other tube for my cost- $120- give me a call at
561-373-1595. The available tube is unused, in the box, factory sealed =
in a
foil bag, with instructions.
