FWIW,

About 7-8" was added to the top of N97XL's winglets
to compensate for the lost lower winglet area. These
taller winglets were also used on the factory Elite
demonstrator (standard fuselage, 173 wings, no lower
winglets) which is based at my field (WHP).
After consulting w/ Duane, I made my XL winglets
(Dynamic Wing) taller to match the dimensions on
N97XL. Duane did indicate that the "yaw reversal"
affect is less with the lower winglets installed but
that it can be counter-acted with proper rudder
inputs.
It will be interesting to see how fences, vortilons,
& VG's affect planes without the lower winglets -
compared to those that do.

Pat (XL, no lower winglets, not flying)
