REFLECTOR:Homeowner's Policy

Just to throw in an exception to the "it really isn't an airplane until it's
flying" and insurance -
Sebastian is constructing new t-hangars at X26. The landlords (the City of
Sebastian) is open minded enough that they are going to allow experimental
aircraft construction inside the hangars. To rent a hangar one must have an
aircraft "N" number registered to the person renting the hangar (me). No
problem, the FAA allows folks to reserve an "N" number ... done. The
landlord also requires liability insurance on the "aircraft" with the City
as a named insured. This is a reasonable request in my opinion (I know if
the aircraft in the hangar next to me goes up in flames - and it affects my
aircraft, that I'd like for his/her insurance to cover against this sort of
thing). So for me, and I guess for people who are building away from home -
aircraft builder's insurance is the way to go.
