Or think about doing an augmented exhaust, Jack Morrison's E-Racer was =
discussed in the November Sport Planes, and he reported getting =
excellent cooling with his supercharged IO540 from NACA's and the =
augmentors, even on the ground.

  OK, from analyzing the answers so far, the cure for high temps on taxi =
and hold
  is to:

  1} Male sure the plenum is tight around the cylinders.   DONE
  2} Lean like hell while idling.  ALWAYS DO.
  3} use bilge fan to cool oil.        HAVEN'T DONE THAT YET
  4} Make sure cowl is as close to prop as possible.  DONE
  5} make slots on lower cowl for air to exit.

  Scott Swing already tried # 5 with minimal results.

  Maybe mounting a big fan (ala Volkswagen) with the top nacca scoop=20
  will resolve the heat problem?????
