There has GOT to be some suction there, else my engine would be overheating.
It certainly isn't picking up any pressure from the NACA scoops while on the
ground.  Maybe I can rig up a manometer to measure any vacuum in the cowl
while idling and at some higher rpms. 

 

Good idea!  That would be good info to have.
