You should be able to get your Navaid to track VOR's. It may take some
tuning per the Navaid instructions.

A friend of mine has a Velocity with the Smart Coupler and Navaid connected
to the old Garmin 90, it tracks very well, on rails he says, even with a
multi waypoint flight plan in it.  It makes the transitions to the new
courses smoothly.
