Al,
I would prefer copper. Aluminum has a higher expansion rate than copper =
when subjected to heat. This can lead to clamps and fasteners loosening =
over time. Commercial and residential wiring that uses aluminum, =
require the use of connectors that are specifically rated for aluminum =
wire. As a plant engineer, I have always recommended torquing =
electrical distribution busses once a year (they do loosen.)
