MessageSpeaking of metal materials, I ran across a note in the RV list =
about NEVER putting aluminum fittings in the oil cooler, due to the fact =
the cooler can be ruined from the galling of the aluminum threads. Then =
I remembered that I had a fitting do just that when I installed my oil =
cooler line fittings into my oil cooler. After that I recall my AP I/A =
friend saying that he couldn't finish installing a new oil cooler in a =
Mooney (I think that's what it was) he was working on because he was =
waiting for steel fittings to come in that he ordered. He said that =
Mooney requires steel fittings and they couldn't be replaced with the =
normal AN Aluminum fittings. I think I know why now!=20
Any comments? Mack?

Subject: REFLECTOR:Fuel Shutoff valve
I ordered my fuel shutoff valve from Velocity. It is just like the =
one in all the velocity pictures. Brass with two 3/8" npt fittings.
Today I got the Summit Racing catalog and it has an aluminum fuel =
shutoff - AN fitting - bulkhead penetrator, all in one. =
http://store.summitracing.com/productdetail.asp?p=3D2455
Does anyone have experience with this valve? Any thoughts about using =
it?
Thanks,
Andy
