Ronnie

I agree the VV is a bargain. I know some complain a little but in the whole
scheme of things, it's a bargain. It's interesting reading (one can skip
the fluff pieces if you want) and there are nuggets in there (ask two people
that discovered they needed a nose-job in the last edition). The columns by
Scott Brandon and Wayne are always useful. I don't even mind the occasional
editorial comment. It helps us understand where everyone is coming from.

What it is NOT is a true reference resource. Paging through several years
of editions when looking for a single sentence or reference is dark-ages
stuff. On line, a decent search facility cuts that same hunt down to a
second, plus it should include related references. That's the heart, and
beauty, of an on-line database---it can be sliced, diced and searched with
no effort.

It could go so far as to allow us to "update" our own plane. For instance,
if someone is using a particular non-certified alternator, such as Toyota
model XYZ, and someone has a problem that may be a design/operating defect,
it would be a service of the highest order to be able to sort the dbase for
Toyota alternators, perhaps even down to a specific model, and be able to
send out an email alerting those specific users that they may have a
problem.

For those that don't like such "chat" (and are otherwise withdrawn and
anti-social), they could opt-out and limit email access to the Factory only
for major ADs. The options are endless. Sure, there'll also be endless
modifications and "improvements" to the IT system as it goes along. But, an
imperfect system is still better than no system. No?

In sum, the current "stuff" on line would be a foundation for building a
more comprehensive, utilitarian system.

What say, Internet-Guy (aka R.Brown)?

The KPC's are already at www.Velocityaircraft.com/manuals/

Bob Hugel also collected these KPC's and sorted them by model. See
http://www.lehightechnology.com/velocity/list_kpc.asp

The Safety corner stuff, as well as maintenance, flight training, building
hints, completed aircraft articles and other general information is what
makes the Velocity Views a must-have and worth the paltry $35 per year you
have to pay for it. That's only slightly more per issue that a lot of folks
pay for Light Plane Maintenance.
