After looking at the picts Dave saved. I think your problem was due to
harmonic fatigue. The location of the SS breaks coincide EXACTLY with the location
that my SS leading edge cracked due to the same. That of course caused the
RPM restriction on IO360 w/o counterweights thing. I caught the crack as it was
developing, but it was in the exact place. Once you crack the SS through
even though it's still attached to the wood blade, you now have a weight free to
move the blade tip. I think mt has bigger problems then just
non-counterweighted 4 bangers.

As far as I am concerned, mt has poor customer support. The Germans HATE to,
and will not even consider they have a piece of s%&*t in a Velocity prop. I
have been through too many problems and still am with mt. Last being after my
prop came back from the blade replacement due to harmonic failure (four month
down in which Andrew @mt argued that it was not a failure because the blade
did not separate, and mt never has had a blade separate), I was told the hub
needed to be modified because it was worn (after 180hrs) and will start leaking
grease if I don't. O.K.; it hasen't leaked yet, but we will. Upon return, the
hub immediately begun leaking grease like a sive. mt would not pay for
repair (do it right), or shipping, so I pitched a fit, and they finally paid for
the labor, and half of the shipping (thanks a lot Eric). Upon return the second
time, it again begun immediately began leaking grease, and they won't even
return my e-mails now(thanks again mt).

The Hoffman on my hanger neighbor's cozy (O-360) that does not have a rpm
restriction has a much stronger looking blade. Where ours tapers to under .125
thick at the tip, the Hoffman is over .312 at the tip and much wider. Almost
paddle looking. A Defiant on our field has had Hoffmans for some time, and
although they have seen some debris through them, and stored outdoors, they still
look stout.

Hate to bitch without any constructive ideas, but I don't have any except we
need a replacement for mt. Even though the Hoffman is about 2K more than the
mt, in my case, I would of saved many time over that in the way of time,
money, shipping and down time if the problems were not there. I don't have a
Hoffman, so I don't know if Hoffman dosen't have there own problems.
