REFLECTOR:MORE ON COMBUSTION AIR AND COOLING

That sounds about right - 217 knots = 2.3" Hg pitot pressure. Plus 29.98 =
32.28" MAP.

On our "slow" Velocities, 175 knots equals about 1.5" Hg pitot pressure.

Steve, are you sure the Airflow Performance flapper doesn't block the
alternate air when the ram air is open? I almost used a Piper alternate air
valve and that is how it could be used.

Ronnie

| The Airflow Performance auxiliary air intake manifold does not have a
double
| butterfly system...That means that, when you open the system to ram air,
| excess pressure bleeds off back though the alternate air intake...You
loose
| ram pressure...How much you say???...Well. that depends on how fast your
| going and the pressure differential in the cowl...Normally, about 1/2 inch
| of MP at 200 knots...Total MP at sea level, standard day, 220 knots in my
| Glasair is 32 inches...

| Best... Steve
